This image was published on page 38 of the Birmingham News on April 29, 1966 ("It's 'Anchors Aweigh' in cool, colorful, informal dress") with the following description: "Once a thriving little fishing town, there's little left at West Bay, Fla., except a few cottages hidden under gray hanging moss, a few shrimp boats, but it is a fun place for rambling, for listening to tales of other days about the land, the gulf. It's the right setting for the gayest new version of Western jeans in printed cotton such as these by Mainland, topped, of course, with that beloved 'uniform' of the young sportsters, a 'Po' Boy' cotton knit top, by Modern Junior. Lasso them together with a leather belt, tie a 'kerchief over your head to be the prettiest of rugged landlubbers." |
