The club boasts 285 members and a modern 9 hole course. 9 more holes being developed. / One of the newest homes in Andalusia. The home of Mr. and Mrs. James R. Caton, owner of Caton Truck Lines. / Caton maintains a private airstrip and hangar in his backyard. / A new locally owned motel, the Town Line Motel, opened last week on South Highway 29. Owned by R. Y. Williamson, a native, who returned to Andy. / Site of new privately owned hospital. Construction starts in January, 1964; 66-bed hospital will sit on this 10-acre plot. $650,000 donated to Andalusia Hospital, Inc. to build - by people of Andalusia. / Andalusia High School, built in 1940. Since has grown tremendously. Recently added a new wing at rear. / Mary McAteer, employee, checks conveyor of shelled pecans at one of Andy's largest industries... Funsten Pecan Company. Funsten shells and processes pecans. / Gulf Naval Stores - another large industry in Andy. They take light [wood] stumps and squeeze the turpentine, rosin, and pine oil out of them. / Andalusia... / Unloading lightwood stumps at Gulf Naval Stores. Ray Latimer, owner and manager says that Gulf keeps 4,000 tons on hand, and that they work about 250 tons per day. A stump has to age 20 years, after it becomes a stump, before Gulf Naval Stores can process it for turpentine, rosin and pine oil. / Alabama - West Florida Methodist Conference building. The conference was moved from Montgomery to Andy when citizens raised $50,000 to construct the administrative building. / Knew professional center building, house doctors offices. / Andalusia First Methodist Church, one of oldest buildings in Andy. Stately, portrays dignity, stability, at entrance to East Three Notch Street which is called street of churches in Andy. / Covington County courthouse, on the square in Andy. Only courthouse in world with neon sign proclaiming "Cancer can be cured." Ed Reid was cured of the dread disease and though that the sign over the door would be the best way to warn his neighbors. / Alabama Textile Company - pride of Andy - one of largest contract shirt manufacturers in the United States. / Andy mayor Bill Baldwin. / [Work orders included]
