City desk feature / Rubber Duckie Race promo / Feature / Imogene Davis / Bob James / Pearl Hardin / Carole Caceres / Diane Smith / South Building at Colonnade up on hill / Building toward back / South Central Bell / Guard / "Thousands of little duckies will "swim again", April 6, at Tannehill State Park at 2 p.m. during the Telephone Pioneers of America 3rd Great Rubber Duckie Race. / Each duckie racing represents a $5.00 contribution to United Cerebral Palsy of Greater Birmingham, with $53,000 raised as a result of the first two duckie races. / Each "duckie adopter' receives a Cobb Prime Time Video card, entitling them to one free video per month for one year (a $36 value!) and a lucky duck adoption, certificate, with a chance win the grand prize for the duckie to cross the finish line first. (All ducks will be numbered and raced). / The Grand Prize includes a trip to Disney World for a family of four with hotel, airfare and Disney passes from the Mountain Brook Inn, $1,000 shopping spree at Eastwood Mall, and $1,000 spending money - Telephone Pioneers. / The first 50 duckies to finish will receive duckie t-shirts. / Official Great Rubber Duckie sponsors are: Telephone Pioneers of America, Alabama Chapter #34, Cobb Prime Time Video, The Mountain Brook Inn, Eastwood Mall, WTTO Fox 21 and WMJJ, Magic 96 FM." / [Work order and press release included] |
