Covered tracks at the Republic Steel coal mine in Sayre, Alabama, which was closed in August 1972.

A sign at the bottom of the steps reads, "Watch out for trucks." At the time of its closure, the Sayre location was the oldest continuously operating coal mine in Jefferson County.
