Summary:This image was published in several papers, including the Knoxville Journal on July 18, 1943, with the following caption: "Hall of Fame - In honor of great baseball players who have played with the club in the past, this group gathered for the unveiling of the Birmingham Barons' 'Hall of Fame.' Standing (left to right) Solon Jacobs, club president in the first Southern League; Billy Evans, president of the Southern Association; W. J. Boles, Baron business manager in 1901; Billy West, club secretary from 1917 to 1928; Herman Farley, ardent fan who has never missed an opening game in Birmingham in Southern Association history; Ed Norton, club owner in 1938; Eugene Connor, city commissioner; Paul Florence, president of the club at present, and Zipp Newman, Birmingham News sports editor.
