Jane Culbreth outside the public library in downtown Leeds, Alabama.
Leeds Discount Furniture is visible behind her, and the IGA grocery store is across the street. Culbreth, an activist and civic leader, had been a long-time supporter of the women's rights movement. (The library was later renamed the "Leeds Jane Culbreth Library" in her honor.)
