Summary:The Alabama novelist, Augusta Evans, writes her friend, Rachel, about a book compiled by Dr. Powell, a professor at the Medical College of Atlanta, Georgia, containing contributions from literary women of the South. The proceeds will go to the building of a female charity hospital in Atlanta. The professor is pleased with her manuscript on a theme from Greek history. Augusta speaks admirably of John Lothrop Motley's writings on the history of the Dutch Republic and United Netherlands.
