Summary:This is a newspaper photo of Marvin Felton, who been accused of murder in Sheffield, and his attorney Bruce Boynton. Boynton was a civil rights lawyer who, as a student in 1960, was arrested for trespassing in a Virginia bus terminal restaurant that was reserved for "whites only." Boynton appealed the case and the Supreme Court ruled in Boynton v. Virginia (1960) that racial segregation in public transportation is illegal.
