Summary:This image is a black and white photograph of the William Rufus King Room in the Alabama State Department of Archives and History in the World War Memorial Building in Montgomery, Ala. Postcard text: (back) The contents of this room, a part of Senator King's collections, were presented by Miss Alice M. King in memory of her great uncle, William Rufus King, who, over a period of thirty-three years, held the positions of U.S. Senator from Alabama, Minister to France and Vice President of the United States. He was born in 1786 and died in 1853. Only a few of the cabinets can be seen in this picture.
