Summary: | This image is a map showing the topography of Coosa and Elmore Counties, Alabama. It also shows a portion of Autauga and Chilton Counties, Alabama which are west of the Coosa River. The map shows contour lines, rivers, swamps, ponds, mountains, railroads, roads, cities, towns, buildings, churches, bridges, ferries, and boundaries with neighboring counties. The map is prepared by U.S. Geological Survey. The contributors are acknowledged in the lower left side of the map and are stated as follows: “Jno. H. Renshawe, Geographer in charge. Triangulation by U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey. Topography by Robert Muldrow and Nat. Tyler Jr.”. The survey was done in 1900-1901. The contour interval is 50 feet and datum is mean sea level. The projection used is Polyconic projection. There is a note on the lower right side of the map stating that, ”To place on 1927 North American datum move projection lines 20 feet north and 30 feet east.” Along the bottom of the map, there is a grid showing the approximate mean declination 1901, a scale, and a diagram of township. A subtitle “ALA. WETUMPKA” with index “N3232-W8600/30” is displayed in the lower right corner. The map is an original printed copy and is mounted on a cardboard. Except for some natural wears and tears along the edges and discoloration, the map is in good condition.
